Community Value
A carbon capture and storage (CCS) hub in the northeastern United States can deliver a plethora of workforce and economic opportunities for businesses and communities around sites where components of the hub develop.
CCS is a growing industry, and with that comes growth in workforce opportunities, such as the creation of new jobs and the expansion of educational and training programs. The integration of CCS into existing local industries can strengthen and grow existing operations and prolong their lifespan.
To date, EXPLORE ACS is engaging in conversations with stakeholders and community leaders to build partnerships and strengthen community support for the concept of a CCS hub. The information gathered from these conversations will help support CCS development and inform engagement and outreach activities in the local communities nearest to potential sites.
